Who We Are
Surrounded by forest and located outside of developed areas, the Dunmore Range aims to provide benchrest positions for 500-meters and 1000-yards with precision distances to beyond 4000 meters. With diverse terrain types and vegetation, the Dunmore Range features extensive locations for camping, hunting, as well as long-range challenges.

Target practice is nothing new for the Dunmore Range.
Previously serving as a Commonwealth of Australia defence site, the property was a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) practice bombing range for Lancaster's flown from nearby Cecil Plains & was also used for land-based training for the Australian Army for World War II, Korea and Vietnam preparedness.
The site officially became an RAAF "Practice Bombing Range" on the 16th September 1975 under the Commonwealth Lands Acquisition Act 1955-1973 and was "paid-off" on the 30th June 1988.
Still refereed to as the "old bombing range" by locals, the site still boasts disused telegraph lines, craters and empty ammo links left over; though the range has only seen "small arms" since the ordnance ceased falling.

The Dunmore Range Association Inc is a not-for-profit organization supporting the development of the outdoor sport & recreation facility at Dunmore, Queensland. This also includes community engagement, promotions, and fundraising for the sites sporting activities.
Outside of the Association’s role is the actual design, construction & maintenance of the range site; as well as ongoing management of the site overall. These tasks are fulfilled by the leaseholder (the Dunmore Trust) and Range Operations, an organization dedicated to co-coordinating with other clubs & associations who would also use the range while ensuring safety and compliance across the site.
